Woollies Cricket Blasters

Richmond Union Cricket Club is again hosting Blasters Cricket sessions for the 2024/2024 Season. Cricket Blasters is for kids 4-9 and intended as a first time exposure to sport. They are a combination of training sessions and games.  There are no skill or ability prerequisites, the objective is to introduce children to sport at an early age, encouraging them to have fun playing sport and develop  some skills in cricket.  It also prepares them for Junior cricket from 9 onward.

Sessions will be run on Saturdays mornings from 10.00 a.m. till 11.00 a.m. at Citizen Parks Richmond in front of the cricket nets. You are welcome to arrive 15 minutes early to start warming up. Start date is Saturday, 12th October. There are gaps to take into account Melbourne Cup Day, Christmas holidays and Australia Day. Number of sessions is variable depending on weather (we are liable to get rained or heated out at least twice!). We finish the season at the end of Feb.

The objective is to introduce children to a great sport in the most positive way possible. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact myself,(Blaster coordinator), on Richard.woolcock@gmail.com (the club email is RichmondUnionCC@gmail.com) or 0414-420-211. Alternatively if your child is on the cusp of playing junior cricket you can contact our Junior Coordinator Lachlan Mosley 0414-717-791.

If you know any other parents who might be interested in their child participating, please invite them along, a parent/child can do a 'try before you buy session' for free. There are no skill prerequisites and we have plenty of spare equipment. Simply send them this email. The registration URL is;

As with last year, the Blaster Packs have been set up to better suit the kids with different selections. They can  still wear the colors of their favorite Big Bash heroes. Equipment is supplied for the cost of one off registration and parent participation is encouraged. We use plastic bats and a rubber ball so the program is very safe.
